Sickness absence
In providing relevant Occupational Health services Regent Street Clinic aims to
assist client companies in the promotion of employee health and reduction of
time lost through illness or accidents.
Absence attributed to sickness is often the largest single area of cost for
employers. For many organisations the cost of lost time for ill health is at
least ten times that due to accidents!
Our aim is to focus on the individual employee and identify the actual reason
for non-attendance at work. With early intervention, planned support and a
strategy for the manager and employee to undertake, hopefully an acceptable
attendance will be achieved. When necessary we make recommendations relating to
fitness for the job activities, reasonable adjustment and/or retirement on the
grounds of incapacity.
Pre-employment assessment and report
If a specific health problem has been identified on a pre-employment
questionnaire, then we at the Regent Street Clinic will provide an independent
medical report stating whether we deem the employee fit to do the job or notify
you of any recommendations or restrictions of their ability to do the job.
Managers/employers do not have the right to know confidential medical
information, but they do have a need to know if any health problem affects
ability to work. We can assess confidential health information and provide a
statement of fitness ensuring that the employer meets their duty of care and is
made aware of any reasonable adjustments needed. We believe that this
pre-employment medical contributes to risk reduction within your business.
UKOOA (offshore) medicals
The UKOOA policy requires that all persons designated as 'offshore employees'
shall be examined periodically and classified as medically fit to work in the
offshore environment. This examination has to be carried out by a physician
approved by UKOOA HAC.
We offer this service at Regent Street Clinic, conducting the assessment in
accordance with recognised Occupational Health standards by our qualified
Occupational Health Physician.
